Personal Wellbeing and Self-care

Proactive behaviours to support personal wellbeing

Self-care is empowering as it encourages us to focus on what we can do as individuals to positively influence and protect our health and wellbeing in addition to seeking support from others.

Self-care is about intentional decisions and behaviours that reinforce good health and wellbeing and help to manage illness. It relates to how we eat, move, sleep, unwind and enjoy life and is essential for maintaining optimal mental, physical and emotional health.

Proactively caring for ourselves helps to reduce stress, manage conditions like depression and anxiety, improve mood and keep our bodies in good working order.
