Project Description
Mindfulness and Self-compassion
Retrain your brain and break repetitive cycles
Mindfulness is deliberately paying attention to our present experiences with curiosity and without judgement. By doing so, we become more aware of our thoughts, emotions, behaviours and body sensations.
This awareness allows us to disconnect from autopilot and choose to replace well-worn unhelpful beliefs, thoughts and behaviour patterns with fresh healthier ones that support our wellbeing.
Mindfulness helps us to retrain our brain and decide where to place our attention. It helps us to change our relationship with our experiences and break cycles. We can choose how to respond rather than just react.
Compassion practices complement mindfulness as they help us to cultivate a kinder and less critical attitude towards ourselves.
There is extensive scientific research showing mindfulness to be effective for a range of applications.
