This updated 2-day Mental Health First Aid England course includes a three-year package of support to help Mental Health First Aiders carry out their role with confidence.

As well as the best evidence-based Mental Health First Aid training, trainees receive three-year access to ongoing learning and support through the MHFAider Support App®.  The app gives you 24/7 digital support, access to exclusive resources, ongoing learning opportunities.

Suitable for a range of sectors and professionals

Mental Health First Aid training upskills managers and teams with the knowledge and skills to become a Mental Health First Aider. 

Training helps to minimise the impact of poor mental health at work. It is adaptable and designed to benefit those in a range of sectors and professional roles including people managers, team members, HR, learning and development and senior leaders.

Learners who attend this training gain:

  • an understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect mental health

  • an understanding of common mental health conditions e.g., anxiety and depression

  • an understanding of the impact of stress on mental health

  • practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues

  • confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress

  • increased confidence around mental health conversations and non-judgemental listening

  • information to help you signpost someone to professional help and resources

  • confidence to challenge stigma

Course modules

  • Session 1: Includes introduction to mental health and mental health first aid action plan, self-care, mental health language and stress.

  • Session 2: Includes anxiety, eating disorders, active listening, substance misuse, self-harm.

  • Session 3: Includes depression, suicide and psychosis.

  • Session 4: Includes recovery, boundaries and moving forward in your role.

Everyone who completes the course gets:

  • a workbook and access to an online manual

  • a certificate of attendance

  • three-years’ access to resources and ongoing learning opportunities.
